Kevin Liles retires from the music business!



Kevin Liles is a prominent figure in the music industry, known for his impactful contributions as an executive, entrepreneur, and advocate for artists. His journey began in the late 1980s when he moved to New York City, fueled by a passion for music and a desire to make a mark in the industry.

Liles started his career as an intern at Def Jam Recordings, where he quickly demonstrated his talent and determination. His work ethic caught the attention of influential figures in the company, leading to his rise through the ranks. By the mid-1990s, Liles became the Executive Vice President of Def Jam, playing a pivotal role in the label's success during the golden age of hip-hop. He oversaw the careers of iconic artists like Jay-Z, DMX, and Ludacris, helping to shape the sound of a generation.

In 2004, Liles took a bold step by founding his own company, KWL Enterprises, which focused on artist management and music publishing.
